Job Opening: Temporary Entry-Level
Administrative
Assistant
3 to 4 Month Full-Time Position w/ Potential to
Permanent Hire
The S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle
East Peace works with leaders and policymakers in the United States and
the Middle East to help reach a just and comprehensive peace that will
bring an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict. To further this mission, the
Center's activities include meetings with government officials, travel
in the region, diplomatic exchanges, conferences, and workshops.
The S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle
East Peace is currently accepting applications for a temporary
executive assistant with the possibility of permanent hire. The
Executive Assistant will be an integral part of the Center's team,
involved in important meetings and programming, and working very
closely with the Center President, Congressman Robert Wexler. The
position requires interacting with high-level officials from the US and
foreign governments, and handling confidential and sensitive
communications. Ideal candidates would be recent college graduates with
a background in Middle East studies.
Start Date: Last week
of September 2010 thru December 2010
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Professionally and effectively handling all incoming
calls
• Scheduling and maintaining calendar of appointments,
coordinating meetings with others and handling incoming scheduling
requests
• Managing incoming mail
• Assisting with travel arrangements
and providing
ongoing logistical support
• Preparing expense reports and
reimbursement forms for
Center staff
• Purchase/Order office supplies
• Assist with special
projects and research at request
• Providing overall support for
in-house meetings,
policy gatherings and other various Center events.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate Degree (required), Middle East focus
(preferred)
• Exceptional written, verbal, organizational and
interpersonal skills (including excellent telephone communication
skills)
• Demonstrated ability as a team player and ability to
communicate effectively
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office
software (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Highly detail-oriented, responsible,
strong
organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
